One-X Mobile mailbox error

I get the notification, I can email/delete it; but when I press play, it says "failed to retrieve message" (loosely translated).

One-X 9.0.4; Android HTC One M8 phone.

I tried it on 9.1 (trials and it works.
It is based on 9.0 but it could be an oder version.
Do you see anything in the logs?
