I've configured my One-X iPhone client and set-up One-X Portal Server (Linux).

The client just spins and spins.

Here are the Console logs (retrieved using the iPhone Configuration Utility 3.5/Windows):

Did you follow the docs?
Do you have a FQDN setup?
Do you have a user with at leat mobile worker?
Did you setup mobile twinning?
Did you configure the user in One-X Portal for this?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You must select a Power or a Mobile user, don't leave it on Basic user. Then reboot the IPO.

-no, I entered localhost

-how do I do this?

If you read the OP and the iPhone logs, it seems to be getting disconnected related to xmpp. These are very detailed logs - but I don't understand them

Thank you

If you have no FQDN you need to enter the IP address of the 1XP server. You app can than only connect thru the local wifi and not 3G. Localhost won't work. Mobile twinning is not needed to get it working.

Do you have the Windows or Linux version?

I am looking for help on this as well. I am running the windows version (Windows server 2008.) I followed the instructions for setting up the portal, as well as teh onex mobile config instructions. I did run the Avaya Windows fire wall batch file to open all the ports. I set up the port forwarding on my firewall. I have the domain (FQDN) pointing to the server both both public and private networks. I know it works on private network, because I can use the domain name/inyama/inyama.html to acceess onex on my pc. For Public, Pinging the domain name resolves to my IP address, and I can telnet to 8444 and 5222 without an error. I set up the mobile number on my user through the portal admin. I am set up as a power user. The onex mobile client is checked. The domain name is entered in the IM/Presence server config. I installed the android client on my phone. I am running IPO500 8.0(43) I uninstalled my antivirus with no change. I can use twinning to have both phones ring simultaneously, but that doesn't use the app.

I still get "Failed to retrieve XMPP account info from "my domain name:8444" I have tried it on wifi, 3G and 4G.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

chicgal.... Can you telnet to the fqdn in ports 8444 and 5222 from outside you network?

and undertand that you set you fqdn into your local network into your DNS system or controller to have a correct conection in your local network too.

Try first in wifi using you local ip oxportal server. Then when you hava a correct wifi conection you can try to setup it with fqdn in local network and from outside.

Remember too, that one x preferred need power user o mobile worker for setup one x client preferred in you iphone or android.

Regards!
Djmtrar

Also make sure you're logged out from the 1XP client on the PC, a reboot of the IPO it self also helps sometimes.

Hi Bas1234,

Anyway you can use the preferred inclusive when you are logged into you AVAYA CALL ASISTANT or Avaya One X Portal WEB.

Hi again Bass1234,

I understand that you mean the first time you connect an iPhone with One X portal (preferred) always have problems the first attempts if you are conected with the AVAYA CALL ASISTANT of logged into AVAYA ONE X PORTAL?

I do not remember that had happened, but I note it in case I happen.

Thanks.

Djmtrar - I can telnet to 8444 on the FQDN, but not 5222 - I am checking my firewall now.

I did set the same FQDN on my LAN as well as the actual domain on the WAN side. Should I try the IP address instead of the FQDN on a local wifi connection? According to the manual, the error I am getting does not indicate that it is not seeing the server, but that it cannot get the information from the server for the user account...

The user is a power user with onex mobile enabled. Licensing is good - This is our demo unit.

Thanks again!

Login with 1XP on a pc with your credentials.
Then go to the tab configure and check if your mobile number is set!
If that is the case then you could try a reboot of the 1XP server.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

chicgal -

Well, the outside problem, of course is the port 5222. Remenber check your firewall for this and your port fordwaring if it is in diferent devices or infraestructure.

In the case of wifi, to check the fqdn is equal. If your fqdn is ok, you will can telnet to the fqdn name and port 5222 and 8444 in your local network via wifi or cable conection.

If the telnet is ok, but your mobil device not connect, the the problem is in the configuration into de 1XP or MANAGER.

Ceck you twinning phone in the manager.... well this is important for make the call but not for the mobile device connection. The if you have a total connection with your one x preferred aplication and you can not call... the problems perhaps in the twinning number.

and reboot de one x server if you think that all setups are ok......

Regards!
Djmtrar

Djmtrar

Even though I ran the windows fire wall batch file, 5222 was being blocked by the windows firewall. I manually added a rule and can telnet to both ports internally and externally. The app now connects. The twinning is enabled with the correct number. When I try to place a call from the app, it says it is calling, but nothing happens - the screen doesn't change, and there is no audio or ringing etc...Getting closer!
Thanks!

Did you enter the mobile number in to 1XP?
You need to login as admin or as a user
As an admin go tho the user and set it.
As a user go to configure and add it.
Without the mobile in there (with prefix if needed) it won't work.
Also check if the client is set to mobile.
I think it does not do that by default.

BAZINGA!

Chicgal,

In the app you can change the number for receive the call. it's a button like a circle..... Look to your SSA active call windows and MONITOR to see what you IPO are doing... and put the trace here. Perhaps your ARS is blocking you number... etc....

Look the Tlpeter post and check it....

OK Djmtrar and tlpeter:

Added the prefix (9) and 1 in the onex portal and it works (I use my cellphone so much, I forget you have to dial a 1 for long distance on land lines...stupid mistake!) It now works on my phone! Thank you!

Then I got brave and added a second phone (an iphone)

It connect up and shows the correct 6 vm messages, however when I dial out, the PBX dials the first phone and completes the call through it! I verified the number on both users in onex portal, as well as the twinning numbers. I don't get it! As entertaining as it would be to route all of the office phone calls through someones cellphone, I think I would probably get in trouble for it!

Again: Both users are Power Users with mobility, onex client, onex mobile client, twinning with their respective numbers, correct number in onex portal with prefix.... I am going to reboot the IPO and onex server and retest...

Thanks!

Djmtrar and tlpeter:

When in doubt, REBOOT! Both are now working!

Thanks for all the help!

I have seen this issue and I needed to delete the user, sync directory from 1xp, create user and sync again to fix it.
