If required, the global analog gateway has a Paging 3.5 mm mini-jack that you can connect to a customer-supplied audio amplifier with speaker for making announcements.
The output is monophonic (single-channel).
The External Paging jack provides a maximum output of 1 Vrms across an impedance of 47.0 kohms. The output impedance is 600 ohms.
Changing the Paging Zone Assigned to a Telephone
The paging feature can be used to broadcast an announcement to a predefined zone of
telephones. All persons in the paging zone hear the broadcast, unless they are on an active
call. The general zone includes all telephones on the network as well as any external paging
equipment connected to the External Paging jack of a global analog gateway. Members of the
general zone cannot be changed; however, any telephone can be configured to belong to one
additional zone.
To add a telephone to a specific paging zone
1. Access the System Options home page. The Set Management list is displayed.
2. In the Name column, click the name associated with the telephone that you want to
configure. The Set Details dialog box is displayed.
3. Click Change Details. The Edit Set Details dialog box is displayed.
4. Select a zone from the Page Zone list. The telephone will be added to the selected zone.
5. Click Submit.
To broadcast an announcement to a paging zone
1. Press the Options ( ) button.
2. Select Paging on the Main menu.
3. Lift the handset and perform one of the following actions:
? select General Page on the Select Paging Zone menu to broadcast a message to all
one-X Quick Edition devices in the network.
? select the Line/Function ( ) button for a specific zone to broadcast a message to the
devices that corresponds to the zone.
4. Wait for the paging tone, and then speak your announcement clearly into the microphone.
5. Select the Done softkey or hang up.
6. Press the Phone/Exit ( ) button to clear the display.
