Has anyone ever had a cs1000 have one way conversation where the caller on the other end hears a loud tone like 1000hz but you can hear everything they say no problem? Happens to both dig. and analog sets. Its only happening on my Tie line and not the CO trunks. Checked T1 card its fine checked the T1 ckt and that runs clean without one error. Did a hard restart on the entire switch and still happened. Could it be the MGC in the shelf with the T1 card for the Tie Line? Any help would be great. Thanks

You can add test tones on DSP's on the MGC command line but i would suspect that that would have been cleared by the reboot. Do you have TDM set (Analog/Digital) in the same gateway as the T1? If so do you get the same on that as speech path would be full TDM no IP and only down to something in the Gateway/T1 or on the kit on the far end of the TIE.

Yes it happens across ALL TDM dig. and analog lines in the switch. i have no I.P phones coming out of the PBX. It's a hybrid switch. Weird that it only does it on the Tie line and not the C.O trunk line. is there a common denominator with the tie T1 card and every shelf. My question being is there something different when a call is being processed through the tie line as opposed to the C.O trunk line beside the T1 cards. The vendor is not convinced its the MGC card and keeps telling me its the T1 ckt. I know it is not because we switched the Tie line T1 with one that i know is good going to another switch on the property and the problem stayed with the switch. the other switch worked as intended with this one on it. Unfortunately I am limited to what i can do on my end. Thanks for the input i appreciate it.

Like I say do your tests from a TDM set located in the same gateway as the T1 TIE and then there is no MGC in the call path just

digital/analogue line card-------MG Backplane----T1 Card-----cable/whatever you have in between-------Far end T1 etc.

I made my test calls from the same gateway as the T1 Tie and had the same result.

I would suspect something at the far end then or on the media path

The only thing that we have not done is change the DS1 card in the mux. The engineer who supplies the T1 out of mux says that the span is good. I have monitored the T1 with a T-berd for 5 hours with no errors what so ever. we did change the slot in the DS1 card and it still happens. As far as i know the other ckt's coming out of the DS1 card are good. I dont think it's that but with this problem who knows. Nobody has seen this where there is tone on far end but the near end hears everything perfect. Thanks

do you have a tester you can plug in the MUX make a call and talk over it like a trend etc.?

we are trying to locate a T-berd that can do that. I have T-berds that do not have that option. we did move the T1 tie from 4 0 shelf to 4 1 shelf and the problem followed.

I think when you disconnect the PABX and connect a tester to the MUX and call the distant site you will still have the issue.

while waiting for that t-berd i am going to swap T1's from the bad switch to the good and make sure the good switch stays up with the T1 they say is bad. If the other switch stays up with no problems then i can rule out the T1 as being bad. we did this for about 30 min. the other night and it stayed up so now we will do it for at least a day and see what happens.
