Morning all,
I am having an issue with one way audio from our CS1000E.
Below is a trace of a call that fails periodically.
Not sure if I am having a Gateway problem, signal server problem, or a network issue.
Is there a way that I can narrow down where the call is failing?

In my experience one way audio is usually nailed down to a codec mismatch between the devices. Since the far end is a CS1K also can you get a TRAC on the other device and see what codec it is trying to use on a bad call?

Wanebo,
Not sure how to get that trace.
Looks like the calls are made from the 1000E and then routes over H323 trunks to the 1000M and then out.
Not too sure how to gather the information (trace) of the call leaving the 1000M.
Can you lead me in the right direction?

Thank you,

The 1st thing I would try to do is narrow it down---is it only when I dial thru the 1000M or can I duplicate it by just dialing the 1000M.

As far as I can tell...
It appears to be when a call is generated from the 1000E then routes to the 1000M via h323.
At that point calls grab a PRI channel to complete the outside call.
So sometimes the callers only get 1 way audio.
Other times the call is dropped.
At sometimes the call is completed without any issues.

Basically couldn't duplicate the issue from dialing directly to the 1000M from the 1000E.
Appears to be only on calls that external.

Hope that helps.
Anything I can provide for more help, please let me know.

I have also noticed that within the RDB I see that the DSEL is set to VOD...I know that there are other options such as VCE or #VCE
Would the setting of VOD cause 1 way audio?
Could 3VCE correct the issue?

I have seen one way audio with Media Cards and MGC Cards in the mix. You are just going to have to narrow down where exactly it is failing.

sounds like a dodgy dsp somewhere

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder
