We Currently have BCM 50 3.0 (16 VM Seats) at customers remote location and MICS 5.0 at main location. Are looking to upgrade to BCM 400 or 450 at main location in order to unifify VM's as users don't like leaving group messages at both locations. I understand that by using MCDN should be able accomplish this but there are issues such as message waiting indicators at far location. Assume someone's done this. Can you provide feedback on your endeavor. I.E. Works Well. Doesn't work well. Complaints customers had. Things that work well.

Works well

only issue I found is the softkeys ( 3 keys under display) on 7316 don't funtion.
IE play, record etc. on the far ends.

They would need to hit 2 (play) 76 (delete) etc.

It's only dialtone-VZ

In addition to the MCDN you'll need some ip trunks for the centralized vm. This will also allow u just to dial the DNs at the other office vs dialing their phone number.

Plus the features only work at the site that has the VM the other would be like dialing in remotly. And no voicemail transfer at remote site.

Sorry. Knew needed IP trunks at both location. Forgot to mention. If a user has VM at far site, will they have an indicator? What if they press Feature 981?
Am going to keep lines at remote location. Can the VM at main location answer these lines?

remote sites will receive msg. waiting. remote sites can't use the feature 98* codes. 986 won't transfer, and instead of 981, they will dial a dn that you setup in the 400. You could route calls through the 400 to the bcm 50's. Keep at least 1 analog trunk in each 50 though for 911. Yes the 400 can answer the lines, but it would be better if you could move those numbers to the 400.

Thanks Blue. They presently have Integrated circuit with PRI delivery and DID's on 50. They would like to keep that functionality. If these sets/did's were set to forward to Call pilot DN on BCM 450 would those calls go into their mailbox? And giving them MWI? On remote location, I assume they'd transfer to extension and would forward to VM in lieu of Feature 986.

Yes you cf-na the remote sites to the 450 call pilot dn. Yes at remotes they need to blind transfer the call to the extension instead of 986.
