Master Table Many Table
Sam Sam

Sam

What I would like to accomplish is to read the Master table which is linked to the Many table and only return one record. I don't want to see 3 Sam detail records. All I basically want to know is that Sam is in the Many table. Any way to do this?

Thanks

Hi,
Link the tables with a standard (equi Master-->Many) join, group on the Master field that has Sam in it ( supress the detail section to avoid blank lines in your report) and only those records from Master that have a match in Many will show up.

Use standart join and then click on menu "Database"-> "Select distinct records"
If you are using command or stored procedure - use Group By clause
