We have two sites networked. The main site has a Legend R7 and the remote site has a Magix R2.0. All PSTN calls to/from the remote site pass through the main site.

This morning the remote site's operator reported that incoming callers from the PSTN couldn't hear her. Eventually if they called in again they could get a good connection. In the past this has happened a couple of times a year. I thought I had the operator reset the phone cabled coming into their MXL-20D phone and this fixed the issue.

I had them try this today and so far I _think_ this did the trick. If it didn't I assume that the next step would be restarting the remote site's Magix, correct? I don't think it's a question of a circuit issue between the sites, as there aren't any logged errors or alarms that have been raised.

If it was an individual channel along this private, point to point (that I have provisioned as PRI) I would think that one of my many test calls would've flagged the channel that's flaked out. But so far I can't recreate it, while making test calls and looking at the channel status (my main site has an Adtran Atlas 550 breaking out the PRI, whereas the remote site has a Magix INA).

Any other suggestions?

The problems persisted to the point of my having to restart the Magix. Hopefully that did the trick.

Looking at the Magix INA 100D error events and the 100D error events on the Legend I didn't see anything dramatic. So it's not like the point to point circuit was having issues. Nevertheless the one-sided conversations were about one in every three incoming PSTN calls. Internally they didn't notice this happening. Just calls coming into them from the outside.

Right now I'm crossing my fingers and rubbing my chicken bones :)
