We have an issue that just seemed to appear out of nowhere recently: IP412 with 4 sites connected w/scn. Remote sites are 3 406's and one 412 all 4.2.49501. The remote locations all go over IP lines to make outside calls. The issue is calls where the other party is conected but cannot here the person on the other end whether it be just four digit dialing across the scn or trying to make an outside call as well as incomng calls that are coming into the main 412 and routed across the IP line to a remote system. In other words all calls that have to use the network to route between systems but it does not happen on every call, very sporadic. Everything else works fine. The setup has worked great for several years, just need input where to start looking.

Thanks

Why are the on private builds?

Could be that you have Direct Media Path turned on some of the Extensions or IP Lines and there isn't a route between two of the remote sites. Try turning off Direct Media Path in all situations and see if that helps. In 4.2 RTPRelay really makes DMP unnecessary anyway.

Also I really would get them off of the 4.2.49501 PB and onto a generally available version such as 4.2(20).

We wanted to make sure when we upgraded at the time from 3.2 that we didn't have issues with our PRI's and being NI2 compliant.

The IP line that all of these systems use does have Direct Media Path checked, but it has been for over a year and this problem just reared it's ugly head recently, any ideas?

4.2.4951 was released because there was a little problem in the New Zealand locale

Only Avaya forgot to add that New Zealand part in the docs :)

CQ 65951 - IP Office system restart when a User transfers a call to a destination set with call forwarding to the originator of the transfer. A private build 6.2(49501) is available for this specific issue (based on 4.2.4 GA)

If it has worked for a long time then i would look to the network and routers !

Sounds bang on to me. I'd suggest that your routing has changed ...

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Really? Did nobody else struggle with the glaring flaws in RTP Relay when first introduced in 4.2? They were as big as the Grand Canyon.

Could be true but then only an upgrade will tell if that is the case :)

Or you could run SSA and see if the call that is having issues is using VCM or RTPRelay. It would show up under Active Calls or on the IP Line.
