I have a single server (NT4/SP5) that the network can see, but no user away from that station can look to that server for files onboard without a password for [pathname]\¦PC$
Anybody have an I dea on what I set up wrong?
Did you add users to that server using the group manager?

Shouldn't It get the user logs from the rest of the Domain?
My impression was that once a machine joined a domain then it would get the user logs from the primary server...
However, I'll give that a shot.
thanks!

A single server and Backup Domain Server are two different types of servers. Yes the Backup Domain server should download the Security database, but if your talking about a single server or a stand alone server then, no the logs won't tranfer. So if you do have stand alone server then yes you do have to set up users on that server.

If you have a stand alone server you can join it to the domain but you will have to setup the security to allow domain users from your durrent domain to use it.
