My receptionnist phone, ext. 221, sometimes suddenly stops receiving both internal (intercom) and external calls. When I try to intercom to that phone, I get:

-- Calling <name>
and then

-- Not in service
and then a busy tone from my phone.

I can make both internal and external calls from the affected phone (ext. 221) without any trouble.

I have roaming turned off, so I switch the phone with another unit, and it starts to work again. A few days later, the new phone starts displaying the same symptoms, so I switch it back to the original phone, and the same cycle starts over again (it works for a few days). I can't figure out WHY this is happening or how switching phones temporarily solves the problem.

HELP!!

Do you mean "Set Relocation"?

Did you check the copper pairs to make sure there is not a bad connection between the jack and the punchdown?

Did you try swapping the line cord?

When you swap out the phones, does the original phone display the same problem on a different port?
