One LAN connection - many IP addresses

Can someone assign multiple IP addresses to a single LAN connection?
 
What OS? On Linux you can have virtual adapters each one with a separate ip address. ex: eth0:1, eth0:2, etc...
 
Yes - easily. In addition to Linux, standard MS Windows supports this as well.
