One IP Dect 3720 phone

All,
What exactly is needed to support a requirement for a single 3720 handset on IPO r9? The docs lay out Dect gateways and wireless servers, but at a minimum, isn't a handset, charger, base station and related power supply enough? We're not looking for database integration.

I've recently set up the D160's with only the handset, charger, base station and related power supply, so yes I would say your good.

You would also need an Avaya IP endpoint license for the 3720 and the Dect certificate. If it is just one, the D160 would be less expensive. Although the D160 range is lacking compared to the 3720 phone.

I have no bad experience with the 160, even the covered area is oke.
For a single DECT phone I would advise a Gigaset with a repeater if necessery, available as analog station and as a SIP station.
I don't really like SIP stations on Avaya as they never give busy tone due to the necessery "Call Waiting" setting.
