I have a merlin legend system (Release 5.0 v10.0) that only allows 1 international call to go through at a time. The user making the second international call gets a busy signal. Also, this same problem arises when more than one person tries to get to the phone company's operator. Only one person can get through at a time.

This issue does not happen with local or domestic long distance.

Thanks,
Bill

Check your ARS tables for Table 19 (Dial 0) and see which pools are in there, you may have a pool with only 1 line assigned. You may need to add additional pools to that route.

Start by going to Print>ARS>All and see what you have.

I printed off the ARS table and I can see that Table 19 (Dial 0 output table) has only pool 70 listed. Tables 17 and 18 both have pool 70 and pool 890 listed.

What should I look at next to determine if I need to add pool 890 to Table 19 ?

Thanks,
Bill

Go to Lines/Trunks > Pools > [Enter 70] and see how many trunks are assigned. More than likely there is only one trunk in there, as TouchToneTommy suggests, and the remainder are in Pool 890.

I found my way into the screen for Pool 70. It shows :

Pool: 70
Assign Lines to Pool
Lines 01-20 Entry Mode
Lines 21-40
Lines 41-60
Lines 61-80
Exit

I was hoping that this screen whould show a list of trunks. I can't figure out how to tell what is assigned to pool 70.

Where do I go from here ??

Thanks for your help !

Click on Entry Mode then click on inspect and you will see what lines are assigned.

I did as you suggested and it shows that my 70 pool only has 1 line assigned.

From what I can tell from the reports, it seems like the only pools in use on my system are 890 and 70. Tables 15, 16,17 and 18 all have pools 890 and 70 listed. Tables 19 and 20 only have pool 70.

Should I add pool 890 to tables 19 and 20 ?

I can't remember but is table 19 your international and table 20 your special serices N11 table, if so you can only have one pool listed, so if you have more lines in pool 890 put 890 instead of 70 in your table 19 and table 20 table. If you do a print out of your ars table all it should show 19 as international and 20 as N11. Hope this helps..

I removed pool 70 from Table 19 and replaced it with 890.

This seems to have resolved my problem and most importantly has not created any new problems ! Thank you all for your advice.
