Can anyone give me a hand? I have an extension 3160 that prompts the caller press 1 for Joe Smith, press 2 for Jim Jones, and press 3 for Joan Miller. I have to set this up on another extension. If someone could give me some direction it would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Your extension 3160 is set up as a menu rather than a normal mailbox. To veiw your current config, log in to Mer Mail, select 3. Voice Services, 4. Voice Services Admin.
Use the DN table to determine how 3160 is setup. You can then view the voice service id in the menu definitions area. Here you will find the 3 mailbox numbers from listed.

To build a new menu, you will need to enter the new number in the dn table, build new mailbox numbers for each individual and finally build the menu using the mailboxes that you just built as menu choices.

Hope this helps.

What is the process of re-recording the message if one of the above 3 users leaves. I want to greeting to say press 1 for X and press 2 for Y.

Any info would be great.

Thanks!

You can do this one of 2 ways.
1. Call your prompt maintenance number (if built it is found in DN table). Enter the menu ID and password and then you can record the greeting.
2. Or, when programming your menu, there is a softkey for voice. Scroll to the section that says greeting recorded and press this soft key. It will ask for a phonenumber - enter the phone that you are closest to. You can then record your greeting.

Good Luck.

Thanks! I used the 2nd option and it worked like a charm!!!
Thanks again.

1). On the extension 3160, I have 2 users setup. When I chose 1 for user X I am prompted to leave a voice message, however when I try to retrieve their messages it says that there aren't any messages.

2). When I am in the Voice Services Admin option, what is the ACTION (currently I have EM) that will allow me to leave voice messages for both users?

THanks!

Are you shure that you atre sending the calls to the proper Voice MAil box in the EM command in the vouice menu?

There is a 4 digit number after I enter EM...What does this number signify?

The 4 digit number behind the EM command in a voice menu defines the voice mail box in which you want the calls to be recorded. What version of MMail you are using? Depending on the release there is an other function called CA call answering you can as well use thsi one by specifying the proper mailbox as a config value.

The switch is Option 11C. Im not sure what version MMAil is?

My issue is that when I have the menu prompts setup, that when I hit 1 for operator A and leave a voice message, that when operator A logs into the voice mail that there aren't any messages. The same for operator B. Is there something else that has to be configured other than what was said in the above discussions?

Thanks

In your menu, you should have the following

Key Action Comment
1 EM Mailbox id xxxx
User A
2 EM Mailbox ID xxxx
User B

The XXXX is the mailbox number that your users need to loginto to check there voice mail messages.

Does this help?
