I accidentaly deleted the mailbox of one extension and now it doesn't get dial tone after pressing 9. It can dial internally and can receive the incoming calls. I have taken a print of the extension and its same as other extensions. extension status is un-restricted. Could you please help me to figure this out?

I doubt that deleting a mailbox has anything to do with the dial 9 issue.

An unrestricted extension is one thing, but there's also something called ARS restriction, which has to do with WHICH trunks you can dial out on (provided that there is no outward restriction). ARS restriction is 3 be default.

It's less likely--but possible--that your pool code was renumbered to "9". In that case, you will need to check the Dial OutCD parameter (under Extensions) and make sure that the extension has dial access to pool "9".

there are several relevant questions. are you in key mode, is your idle line preference set to intercom with no choice made after, in other words when you dial 9 you have no other place to go for dial tone. If you ARE in keymode, go to centralized programming for the affected extension, select Automatic Line Selection, press intercom and then line buttons. If you are in Hybrid/PBX mode then your 9 might indeed be a trunk group selection instead of ARS. If this doesn't fix it, print the extension and post...

I am in Hybrid/PBX mode. I have extension 3206 exactly the same as 3203 as below. But 3203 is working fine but 3206 is unable to dial out and doesn't get a CO dial tone. I have tried changing with different phones but still the same problem.

Please see below the print out for working extension (3203) and problem extension (3206).

Do you think "forced account code" is a problem? How can i remove it?

See page 30 (Adobe Acrobat page 58) of the Merlin Magix Integrated System Feature Reference manual which reads, "Forced Account Code...affects outgoing calls and requires a user to enter an account code before placing an outside call." This is the problem with the extension AND is the one glaring difference between 3206 and 3203.

To remove the extension from the Forced Account Code group, go to SYSTEM PROGRAMMING > START > EXTENSIONS > ACCOUNT > Toggle the LED off for that extension > ENTER > BACK > BACK.

This worked. Thanx very much. this forum rocks.
