Not sure if I have this in the right spot. We have 16 locations, one that houses all our servers (Mail, SQL, File, AD, etc.). We have them connected via VPN over Comcast (I have an ASA at the Main office and PIX 501's and 515e's at the others). What we need to do is at a remote location place a SQL server that will replicate a database from the Main HQ. Basically, trying to cut down on bandwidth usage and speed up response at one location that has 35% of our employees at it. We will also be placing another mail server there (we run MS Exchange 2010, so no problem there). I'm just not sure the best way to go about this, any help would be appreciated.

Basically, set up the remote SQL Server the same as the main one. Use the commands in the Books Online (BOL) to set up a distributor database (this can be on a separate server or on the publisher). Backup all the databases being replicated to the subscriber and then put the databases/tables into replication. I would suggest using transactional replication. BOL gives the commands for creating replication.

One issue to check for is network latency. How long does it take to copy a file from the main location to the remote one? If the network is really slow, that will affect the replication.
