Hi there,

I am new the goldmine world. I need to install a undocked version of goldmine on a laptop for a user. The user allready had a laptop setup with an undocked license but due to a fall down a flight of stairs it needs to be reinstalled onto another laptop. He sync's his goldmine 2 twice a day so no data was lost.

I was told that a One Button sync file would be the way to do it. But when i create a new one button sync file and install it on a laptop it only has a few contacts and the contacts that it has are very old.

What am I missing? i think i just need to sync it with the goldmine sync server but i am afraid that it will delete all of the records on the sync server except for the few that the laptop has on it. Is there a way to import all or the records from the sync server?

Can any goldmine experts out there point me in the right direction?

thanks.

I always have deletions from the laptops to the server switched off. Its a pretty big security issue if laptops can just sync in deletions.

You should be fine anyway, but without knowing a bit more about your system its difficult to tell. When the initial install set was created did you check the cut off date and the filter? It could be theres so few records because one of these wasnt far enough back/filter was incorrect.

Also you havent been deleting Tlogs have you? That would cause that sort of problem as well.

Richard.
