Check if you can use the option "AUDIO-GROUPS".
Use command: DISPLAT AUDIO-GROUP x
If you have this option, then create a new audio-group with: ADD AUDIO-GROUP 1.
In this group, add all the val boards you have.
I have currently this in my system:
display audio-group
AUDIO GROUP 1
Group Name: announcements
AUDIO SOURCE LOCATION
1: 001V9 16: 31: 46:
2: 002V9 17: 32: 47:
3: 003V9 18: 33: 48:
4: 19: 34: 49:
5: 20: 35: 50:
So I have 3 VALs, each in a seperate location.
Once this is done, you will need to change the settings for each announcement you want to add to the audio-group (CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT XXXX).
It should look like this:
ANNOUNCEMENTS/AUDIO SOURCES
Extension: 9320 COR: 1
Annc Name: not_available TN: 1
Annc Type: integrated Queue? y
Group/Board: G1
Protected? n Rate: 64
Important => Group/Board needs to be Gx, where x is the audio-group number.
Then you need to copy/paste the announcement from the val board it is currently on to all the other val boards.
I use the Voice Announcement Managent app for this (CD with software should be delivered with the system).
Once that is done, the system will always use the local announcement.
You can check this by tracing the vector (LIST TRACE VECTOR xx).
You can still store local announcements on the VAL, even if the val is member of an audio-group. So you can have a mix of "shared" and local announcements on the same val.
If you, by accident, delete a shared announcements then the system will check the VAL boards that are member of the audio-group to see if the announcement is present on the other boards and play it.
