As in my previous thread I have never worked on a Panasonic system I am trying to attach the VM to the unit and program it. I know I need to go into Program #117 to set the port. The current setting is MASTER 01> 02 and when I try to assign port 16 (which I believe is extension 16) the setting just reverts back to 02. How do you save settings and is this Port that Im trying to set the correct one. I assume that port 02 is for extension 102 because that one is not being used. I inherited this system so I don't know why or how these are set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in the process of getting a manual.

Okay thanks, now if I set that to 16 I am assigning port 16 to VM and I will attach those wire pairs to port 1 on the VM unit correct.

Okay I finally got this thing connected and I just went through the quick set up assigned names to extensions. I assume I need to assign extension to mailboxes in the system itself. How is that piece done, I assume I go into 998 to accomplish that? I'm still trying to get the manual.

Also, I have a phones in 2 different rooms that I want to be the same extension. Can I st this through the system or do I need to punch them down on the same spot on the block. Can I do this without repunching?

for setting up phones on the same extension, you could consider setting up a hunt group. put both extensions in that group, enable the group, set the ring mode (ring or circular, etc), assign a floating number, eg 290, and hey presto, this gives the flexibility to transfer calls rather than reverting back to daisy chain setups.

ref programs are
106 (hunt type, ring circular etc)
131 hunt group members
813 floating number set up , eg 292
