My motherboard is a Soyo Dragun Ultra Platinum P4X400 model. My power supply is a Antec True 550w. My video card is an Asus V9280. No other PCI cards. Okay - Here's the problem. With my onboard audio enabled in bios, the computer completely freezes when playin games and music. If I disable it and use a sound card...No problems. I've tried the latest bios and drivers but nothing... Anyways, the computer doesn't freeze until there's audio involved.. not just beeps here and there but actual mp3, games...etc... So am I looking at getting a different board.. or anyone here know how to work around this problem... I don't see any sense in keeping a board by which I can't use the onboard...sound...

Thanx for any info...

Not familiar with this particular mobo, but have you tried setting the BIOS to SETUP DEFAULTS? I assume that your operating system doesn't show any conflicts/problems with the on-board sound in Device Manager etc? Can you alter any of the BIOS settings (IRQ, Addr etc) relating to the on-board sound? Try disabling the Game port and see what happens...

Goaoz - thanx for your reply... I set my bios to setup defualts.. and now it works fine. I havn't been able to freeze my cpu. I tried setting things back to the way it was when the computer would freeze and nothing... Could have been something in bios which had been changed that I did not know about. Thanx for the advice.. I feel much better about my MB now....lol...
