hey there,

my car is insured as a private passenger car.

sometimes I am told to do some on-site work.
then the worst came, I had an accident afer setting up a wireless lan at a customer's house. the weather was bad that day. my co-worker postponed my other on-site call-out because of my bad luck.

not sure what my insurance will do if they know that.
shall I also raise this issue with my employer?

any input welcome.

cheers

If your insurance company is anything like mine they will accept it as a normal loss. Just so happens that you go to work at different places sometimes.
At one point there was a question on the distance to the job, but that was dropped on mine several years ago.
It might also depend on what other accidents you've had and on how far your agent will go to bat for you.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

Your current employer will likely not pay for the damages (or your insurance deductable).

I would expect not to get any grief from them about "lost productivity" and some free time off to deal with getting your car repaired.

It sounds like you're in the UK -- did you lose your no-claims discount? That might be a bargaining point towards getting time off for repairs.
