Replacing a partner system with an IPO. Didn't know about the paging system until I got here.

It is a Bogen amp TPU-100B that is plugged into the Page port on the partner. I am pretty sure I need a UPAM but I also think I read on here that I can just pick up a resistor.

Thanks.

Just connect it to a analog station port and program the analog port type as a paging speaker.

I talked with Bogen support and they said I would need a UTI1, that costs about $150 while the WMT1A is more like $40.

What's the difference between the two? Will the WMT1A really work?

Thanks.

WMT1A will work. Configure analog station port as paging, put WMT1A in the middle and you're off to the races. IF you need to add in background music or some other source to paging, you may need another adapter.

Program a spare Analog Station/Extension Port on the IP Office for Paging Speaker.

You don't need a WMTA1 Transformer, it is already built into the amplifier.

Connect the Tip and Ring of that Analog Extension Port to the "TEL BAL" screws (T&R) on the Bogen.

Bogen says in the manual for that amplifier:
"The telephone input ("TEL BAL")is a 600-ohm, dry-loop, balanced input available at the T and R terminals."

I have spoken with Bogen before and I think that they do not have an accurate understanding of how the IP Office works for Paging.
Or, they just want you to spend more money...???

As someone else said before "The IP Office is Counter Intuitive when it comes to the Page"
You MUST maintain a constant Off Hook Condition on the Analog Station Port used for Page if you want it to work.
You must also dial the Short Code that you create for Dial Paging and not the extension number of the Analog Station Port used.

Hope this helps you.

Billx1 is exactly right on this, I have also used a 600 ohm resistor to do this in the past

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Radio Shack has an audio transformer that cost about $3. This has worked for me every time.

Thanks Billx1, it worked exactly as you said.

I am guessing that it is easier for Bogen support to direct everyone to get the UTI1 (Universial Telephone Interface) then to try and figure out what is really needed for the hundreds of different PBXs out there.
