Hi All,

Had a challenge from a customer, and have no clue where to start.

They've asked for a feature which would alert all handsets with an audible alarm if a button is pressed on one handset, would display "panic" and the directory name of the user using the feature. The real challenge comes though with the next part. The handset using the feature should not go off hook, or show any kind of activity on the handset.

Thanks chaps.

closest we came to that was a switch under the desk that looped an analog port.
the analog was set as a hotline to dial a multile apparance on a number of sets.
name display on the analog was duress!!!!

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Would have to be something like what Blitz66 suggests. Any activity on a set will be shown on the display.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

why could the button not be a speedcall that dialled a ring group (containing all the handsets) with the TelDir name 'panic' so it would display on the sets?

they stated that

The handset using the feature should not go off hook, or show any kind of activity on the handset.

I think the fact there can be no indication on the users phone is the killer.
