Thanks for the replies. That was my first post. I've learned a lot from you Guys. I dont think its a caller hang up issue. One instance, a Doctor calls our ER dept, a Nurse answers in an exam room and places the call on hold to take it at the nurses desk. When she picks up the call at the desk it disconnects. This type of thing has been happening intermittently, also with transfering calls being dropped. John, I'm a newbie, what do you mean by mon the dch. Are you refering to the d channel on our PRI smart trunk? How do you do this? Thanks for being there Guys.

both question above are important.. ld 96 enl msgi x and msgo x on the d's ... lots of data, does the doc call back and report a hangup? is the light still flashing on the second set? are all trunks digital? more important, can you duplicate the problem? is this a 61 81? if so and it is a core problem, it would just be on one side, is it? could it be just on one card or loop or group or cni.. this type of problem takes time to isolate.
