Hi There!

I had a customer ask me how to redirect all incoming calls to his cell number from his extention (T7216e on a Nortel MICS system.
I did some reading and I'm kind of confused. I know that the software has to be 4.1 or higher.
Here's my questions: Should I use line redirection or should I use "Feature 84"?
Also, what's the deal with routing and destination codes?

By what I've read there seems to be different ways to achieve forwarding calls to a cell phone on a Nortel system. The easier, the better.

Thanks

There is an FAQ on this. Forwarding calls to cell phone

How To Externally Call Forward a Phone:
You must have at least 4.1 software to execute this feature.

Build a Route
Services û Show
Ringing Service û Next to
Routing Service û Show
Routes û Show
Show Route: 001 û Show
Dialout: No Numbr û Leave alone û Next
Use: ( ) û Change to Pool you want it to use. (Pool A)
DN Type: Public

Build a Destination Code:
Routing Service û Show
Routes û Next
Dest Codes û Show
Show destcode: - Add
DstCode: (enter code) û OK
Normal: 000 û Change to route built û Show
AbsorbLength: ALL
DonÆt have to worry about Night schedule etc.

Make sure the phone has Allow Redirect set to Yes and that youÆve allowed it access to the line pool youÆre using.

Then simply walk up to the phone and press
Call Forward Button or Feature 4
Dial the destination code + phone number.

All calls that ring on the phone will be forwarded! All calls, including IC calls. So if you want one particular line to be forwarded but not others, simply program ONLY that line to appear & ring on the set.

OR

You can go under Terminals&Sets, Capabilities and set the Forward No Answer. Just hit Change and when it says Forward To: enter the dest code and the phone number. Then set the Forward delay to the desired rings.

Thanks so much for the information and help. I really appreciate it.
