There is a parameter under Profiles Branch Office under the group Connectivity settings when you click on the 'configure' button to the right of /base group. Under Connectivity there is a Bandwidth Policy section where you set the Committed Rate and the Burst Rate. It is a drop down menu setting from 56k on up.
This is my question, if I have this set to say 56k committed and 128k burst does that mean even if I have a 3meg DSL line that my actual VPN connection from my remote site to the headend is only at best 128k? Or is that setting related to something else entirely?
The reason I am asking is because I have about 90 remote sites all with either DSL or Cable internet and all are connected back to a single head end and if that setting is what actually establishes the tunnel bandwidth then I am wasting money paying for 3-5meg internet connections at these office when I could actually get by with much cheaper 384k connections maybe. If that setting is not a choke on the bandwidth and I am REALLY getting use of the bandwidth I am paying for then what on earth is that setting for?
Thanks.
