On a Catalyst5500, how do I find which non-cisco devices are on ports

I have a CAT 5500 as a backbone. Coming off it are cisco cat 5000 switches and Bay switches. I am new to this network and used CDP to discover what the IP addresses of the Cisco switches are, but I don't know how to find out what the IP addresses of the BAY switches are. I have an arp table so I can map IP's to MAC's, but I don't know which MAC addresses are assigned to the ports of the CAT 5500 for the BAY switches.

I tried to use the SHOW MAC command, but it skipped over the mac to port listings and I dont know why.

Is there anyway to find out on a CAT 5500 what MAC addresses are assigned to each port without using the SHOW MAC command. Also, is there an easier way to find out what the IP addresses of the BAY switches are from the 5500.

Iam trying to draw a network map showing which type of switch is plugged into each port of the cat5500. THANKS! [sig][/sig]

If you know or can get the SNMP community strings, it's pretty easy. Get a decent SNMP "snoop" or document program. I use something called IP Network Browser from solarwinds.net. It will read the MIB and offer a very complete document for the device including the ARP table which you could search for the correct mac you want.

Visio Enterprise works along the same line as this to draw it's picture as do many other programs.

Hi

Use the show cam dynamic command (or do a show cam ? for details..)
