Greetings,

I'm new to CR and at this point, just trying to develop a game plan in my head.

There will be several groups on this report. Within one of the groups (lets call it employee names), all records for a particular individual (lets call him john) will need to be omitted from the list.

I'm stuck on how to omit a particular set of records within a section/group. I figure it's going to be a formula, but not sure where to put in under the section expert. I realize that the report selection expert is not an option, because I don't want to omit john from the whole report, just a one of the groups.

example of my best guess: {employee.name} <> john //to show all records that don't belong to john

if that's correct, where does it go?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,
I

Use the record selection formula to remove only those records that also belong to that group:
NOT( ({employee.name} = "john") AND ({Group_column}="The group in Question") )

Alternatively, you can use an expression in the Section's Suppress attribute.

hth,

view, export, burst, email, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Ido, that did it, thanks.

I went with option B and stuck it under the section's suppression (and learned something new today). The only thing I changed was to remove the "not" at the beginning.

thank you so much,
I
