Oh My God, I just got a neww hard disk. The funny thing is I had this program in my old hard disk. So I was reviewing for a good internet security. I went to a certain site and I could see some program installing without me not even clicking anything in the site.

I had a whole bundle 180 solutions, Internet Optimizer, Bargain ( Bullseye network), Web-rates all crap.
PLs help anyone knowing how to get rid of these and WHICH IS THE BEST SECURITY SYSTEM?
I see a couple of them like Symantec, Zonealarm, Steganos and Panda platinum. Please pour ur reviews on this

Issue #1: firewalls and antivirus programs are not effective barriers to malware that is non-viral in nature;

Issue #2: your Internet Options settings for ActiveX are more likely an issue.

First, to clean the bad guys, you want to use the utilities discussed in faq608-4650 Be sure to heed the advice about System Restore, and the use of Safe Mode.

Second, you might get a big head start by using any of the trialware programs discussed in faq608-4650 as a first step.

Third, if XP, updating to Service Pack 2 will help

Fourth, for all systems and Service Pack Levels, see:

You also should install an active antivirus program. I use Symantec Corporate Antivirus, and like it. For a freeware AV (for a year) I would use AVG.

Ad-aware SE is not a bad start. I assume the paid-for version does better.
