Dear All,

What is the OLL file extension stand for and if I have the SDK (LiveLink Builder, LAPI,…) how can I view the code within the .OLL File format.

Please forgive me because I'm

Very very New member

.OLL is the extentsion for Livelink's OScript files and they are opened when you open any OSpace via the Builder.

just adding that in a unix installation you do not see that extension, but for all practical puproses livelink builder is a windows program(forgive me I could be wrong,I have used only the windows version).there is an elaborate way described to port windows oll files for the unix installtion also

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

The oll files are actually transportable between all of the platforms. The builder only exists on windows, then remove the extension and move to UNIX. Do you have a link to the other way?

Don't you have to do a unix2dos or dos2unix on the ini files. This I reprinted from a vended module

1) Remove the .oll extension from the oscript file.
2) The line termination character (control M) must be removed from the text files using the dos2unix (or other similar) utility.

ah yes thanks, forgot that tidbit. I end up opening such files in textpad and save as UNIX format. I guess it has become a habit :)

Thanks for the reminder

Another issue with moving Windows modules to Unix is to make sure you transfer the ospace in binary mode if using FTP. We have seen a lot of sites have issues with ospaces moved as text files. Less of a problem is case sensitivity of files. Livelink on Unix will often not pick up source files with mixed case.
