I want to insert photographs of employees into my database. Should I save the scanned photos as JPEG or bitmaps. Does MS ACCESS only allow bitmaps to be inserted into the table field I call Photographs.

Debi,
Access will allow any of the more common photo file formats, including jpeg. I would recommend jpeg, for the file size issue--they're compressed, and the comression/image quality ratio is very good.
