I am trying to attach an object such as a picture or drawing to an inventory item. according to the help files there is a button for Ole objects within the note for items, but no such button found. Any ideas how to atttach pictures to inventory items.

Thanks

Have you set the OLEPath dex.ini setting to a valid location.

If you are using a drive letter try UNC naming (\\Server\Share\Folder) or if using UNC try mapping a drive letter. Sometimes it prefers one method over the other.

Hi David,
I do have a valid address for the note file. The note file opens but there is no option to attach a ole object.
Thanks

do you not get the little paper clip next to the attach button? that's the add ole object button.

and they wonder why they call it Great Pains!

No, No paper clip in any of the notes windows.

if your dex.ini ole path is set and you have no paperclip that would probably indicate to me that you do not have rights to the ole path

Thanks. I went back and checked that and sure enough I found an error in the path. Paper clip now present. Works fine.
