I have a customer who wrote all of thier reports using OLE DB. When this person attempts to schedule/run these reports in CE 10, they receive an error of "Failed to open a rowset. File E:\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 10\Data\procSched\ceappserver.reportjobserver\~tmp15083f5ba482240.rpt"

Do I need to add a connect string to CE? I can't seem to find any information on this topic.

Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian,

For the reports to successfully run in CE - you need to set up a System DSN for the datasource - choose a SQL Server driver and make sure it is named the same as the one used in creating the reports.

I use OLE_DB successfully in CE.

Not sure why it was suggested that you set up a System DSN because they are used for ODBC connections, not OLEDB.

Typically, Enterprise doesn't give you great error messages when the issue has is in the report. The first step you should take is to see if you can run the report in Crystal Reports on the a server that the report job server is on. This is going to tell you if the report should run successfully or not and if the issue is in the report or within Enterprise.

assuming you have a managed framework and have published these reports to it, open a report in launchpad, go to process/database and give it the database login info there, save it and try it again, if it works do the same for the rest.
an alternative method would be to leave a database connection open all the time on your server with the user the reports are trying to use, not advisable but will save you work.

I have a similar issue where I am linking to an AS400 database, add one table (any table) and select one field (any field)and as soon as I F5 to retrieve data I receive the 'Failed to open rowset' message. Any other ideas
