I have an out of hours system to do in the North of UK due to floods.
The old switch which is dead and is a very old version. What I am wondering is do I need to re-write config or can I use the exisisting file.

Panasonic has been a very reliable product for us so we have never needed to upgrade software so am a little rusty.

you convert the old file into version 3.whatever the rev is you are going to load it into and then load it into the new switch

Surely you where shown how to do this at the Panasonic training.

hey when i went though 3 day course only a 1.0 and crummy ok1 Gateway card and no tvm /tvs I just noticed it in the newer Software!

Here we have a dealer web site with all of the latest software and procedures.

Yes I was shown, but I do 5 other switches so I wanted to check and as I said I have never needed to change sw on a panasonic so thought it wise to check.

Cheers
Lee

Copy DSYS File, from SD card and save.
Delete old SD version and Load New Version to SD insert to TDA and Clear Reset the System,

Open Maint Console (latest Vers)and Save DSYS file as new Version then Connect to TDA and load DSYS(new) to the TDA and perform a reset to load back the Customers file.

You may need to do this in a multi stage process Eg: V1-V2-V3 etc
the Complete SD Files are only available from the Panasonic Websites

All done, Luckily even though the SD card had been emerged in water the files were still in tact.
Managed to get the DSYS upgraded within the console then squirted into the kit. And all was there. Phew

No but it smelt of dirty flood water and some of the brown residue didnt leave much to the imagination.

this is why I like the SD card system unless youburn the box it is really hard to lose the Config
