Old Verity and MX7

My company's product utilizes multiple collections, something that the verity with MX7 (verity version 5.5) has problems with due to all the information gathered in the indexing process now. I figured that reverting to the old verity would be a good quick fix. Does anybody know if the verity from CF 6.1 (verity version 2.6.1) can be installed with 7.0.1?
