Are SLC cards available anywhere for a 1978 EPABX-SD-232H, or alternatively for a full replacement of the system. The cards were apparently damage by a surge.

Try WaveTechPlus in Florida @ 800-875-7006 and on the web:

They also repair at the board level. *Make sure the cabinet has a PROPER GROUND according to the practices and NEC code!! This was always an issue with this switch!

Hope this helps!

I would stay away from wave tech they stuck me on a seimans console 232

the one they sold me didnt work I returned it they couldnt repair it I called a number of times and was promised a refund ...I'm still waiting 3 years later.
I also bought a seimans 232 cabinet from them that didnt work again no help I was finally able to get it working by tracing the wiring on the backplane

Hi skip555,

I did not know of this reputation. I used them once for a repair of a phone and thought they were 'OK', but not totally impressed. But will NOT recommend them again! I used to install and repair the Siemens SD-192/232 & SATURNs in the 80s, but only have one I still repair. Do you know of any good repair sources for the cards, etc? I was looking in The Mart to see what was there....

Thanks for the info!

I always found replacment better than repair most places give a 90 day repair warranty but you can get a year on "refurb " cards plus you dont have to bother sending them off usally the price is prety close to the same somtimes refurbs are cheaper.

I dont really have anyone I can recommend for seimans cards anymore I think you will find that most places dont bother with them due to limited demand.

If I needed one I would just get the mart and start calling . Ive been around long enough that I have done business with most of the vendors in the mart at one time or another and I have my opions of them
I would start with the ones I know well and trust and then move down to ones Im not real crazy about.

thats How I wound up buying that console from wave tech after the problems I had with the cabinet earlier. I couldnt find a console anywhere else and they said they had one.

one place you could try is source in texas they are pricey and I dont like the fact that they go directly to the end user but I have always found their product to be good I think you can count on getting something that has been tested and not just a "whipe clean " like so many refurbs out there.
