Hi Guys,
I've just aquired a Server which I would like to wipe and install Win 2003 Server, purely for Lab type use, the machine is a Proventia G200 (G200-1-PB) which I believe is a Intrusion Protection Product made by IBM. Thing is, I've managed to wipe the current OS off the box but I cant seem to get Windows to see the Hard Disk's. I've trashed the RAID, rebuilt it in every way possible but Windows just cant see the Drives. I've used several HD Tools on the Hirens CD some of which have seen the drives, even let me Format them, but once I go back to Windows, it cant see the disks. 3 days wasted now, any ideas how I can get round this or should I just bin it and find something more user friendly.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers

steve

Very early in the install, there is an option to install 3rd party or other disk controller drivers - it is like F3 or F6 - still a DOS looking part of the install. You need to have W3k compatible drivers for the disk controller and put them on floppy or CD to load at this point.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, yes I know where you mean. Any idea though how I can find out what driver is required, eg. how do I find out who the disk controller hardware manufacturer is. Its an Intel Xeon Proc and Mainboard.

If the controller is not integrated on the motherboard, open it up. Otherwise, watch the bios screen as it boots up or, worse case, get the exact make/model off the motherboard itself.

Hi, Thanks again for your reply, Its integrated into the M/Board. I'll give it a whirl again today. I maybe able to research the M/Board and get some info from that.

Cheers.

Download se7501wv2_promiseraid_win_drivers.exe double click on it and extract it on a 3 1/2 disk.

You have to press f6 at the beginning of win 2003 server installation and when it ask you for the raid insert the 3 1/2 disk driver and vuala!!!!, You'll see the raid.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I downloaded the driver and managed to get the Server up and running.

Cheers
