An NCR model 0235 monitor given to me displays ok, but the illuminated area of the screen is restricted in area, and could be expanded horizontally and vertically by at least 10%. The only exterior adjustments are for brightness and contrast, on the front of the cabinet and, on the starboard side of the cabinet, 3 knobs labeled 'S-VGA H-SIZE', 'S-VGA H-POS', and 'VGA H-POS'. Only the 'VGA H-POS' knob has any perceptible effect, and that knob does move the desktop image. Windows 95 lists the monitor as a 'Standard VGA Monitor' in device manager. Could this monitor's display area be expanded by another driver, internal adjustments, or something else? Thanks for your help.

That's a limit on old monitors such as that. If trying to make internal adjustments, you may introduce distortion to the screen.
