Sorry for sounding really stupid but I don't know anything about UNIX or MAS90 so bear with me...

I have an old MAS90 server running on Unix that someone needs to get into. After boot up, the following message keeps popping up every 5 seconds:

Cannot open line ttyA06. No such device or address (error 6).

Cannot open line ttyA07. No such device or address (error 6).

The numbers change...
What does this mean and how do I get rid of this message?

Thanks for your help.

You reinstall the multiport card / drivers that enabled those ttyports.
Or you cripple the port entries in /etc/inittab and in the file sio wherever it is found.
This is not a MAS90 problem, it is a terminal problem in unix. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

Quick script:

for i in A01 A02 A03 A04 A05 A06 A07 A08
do
disable tty$i
done

Also, you don't even really need to do anything- hold ALT and press F3 and you'll have a login that will not be cluttered with the tty messages.

I assume you understand that the problem still is that you don't have the Digiboard that this thing thinks should be there; the ALT-F3 just lets you avoid seeing its complaints.

Yes, I understand. It's an old server that I need access to occasionally (once or twice a year the most).

Thanks for your assistance.

I tried to disable it and got a "not authorized" message. I don't have the administrator's password...

I will try your suggestion to reset the password. Thanks!

We keep getting and error "Cannot update while GL Reports being printed" when we try to update General Ledger......and NO reports are printing?????? Can anyone help? Thanks

In MAS90 go to file, run "GLWSJA" this will clear the indicator that GL reports are running.
