We sold a Magic on Hold unit with a memory card to a customer about 2 1/2 years ago and the customer never activated the production for it (expired now). Now the customer would like to do his own messages.

Does anybody know if you can create your own messages for a Magic on Hold? What format (wav, mp3, etc.) would you use? Is there a naming convention for the music files? any other tips?

Not an Avaya specific unit. Try contact the them directly. They should help.

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

What ememory card is in the unit?? Can it be put into a laptop and the music file already there checked. If the procust needs a license to work, then you could hit a brick wall anyway.

I think some of those have USB ports on them. you may be able to connect to your PC and see the files on it and replace them.

Jamie - The one we sold was Avaya branded but, of course, it is supplied by an outside vendor. I haven't tried them directly but their web site only mentions buying "productions" so I don't know how helpful they will be to someone who wants to do their own.

I can't remember what memory card comes with the box or whether it has anything on it. I'm going to stop by the customers site today to see what I am dealing with.

Kevin - I am certain the one we sold the customer does not have a USB port. We only sold one of these units before we moved to a more generic mp3 player so I don't know much about the Magic on Hold box that Avaya sold. It looks like Avaya has now discontinued it.
