Old M2008 - won't switch from Speaker Phone to Handset

I have a old Option 11c Rel 18.3 and M2008 phones. All seems to work fine but I can't switch from Speaker Phone to Handset by simply pick up the Handset. Example: I push Key 0 (PVR 4888) line hear dial tone, Dial number then when the party answers I pick you the handset. But the call still stays on Speaker Phone.

Same happens if I dial extension to extension with speaker Phone or Voice Call. I have to press HOLD then pick up the handset then press the line to continue the conversion.

I know that the Hands Free option on the M2008 was hardware. I have not tried this with a M2616 to see if it still behaves the same.

Thought I'd post this to see if anyone have any ideas. Here's the Programing for a M2008 set.
