Hi,
I got an old Creative PC-DVD Dxr2 drive and want to know if i can make it read my DVD+R discs?
Is there a firmware upgrade available?

only one way to find out. Pop one in and see, should only take a few minutes. You will need dvd decoder software. If you have an ATI vid card the driver cd usually comes with a decoder. If it doesn't work dvd roms are super cheap now. Just grab a new one. one benefit is 16x as apposed to 2x. Good luck.
