I recently replaced two DC's and they both appeared to dcpromo correctly but i've just noticed that one of them is still listed in AD Sites and Services. It doesn't have any NTDS Settings listed beneath it like the other DC's it's just the object.

Can this be deleated manually or should I be using Ntdsutil.exe?

Thanks.

If you use active directory users and computers on a 2008 server or the vista/7 RSAT tools you can just delete the domain controller server object and it will automatically clean up the metadata for you.
