Hello,

I have been asked to help out a sister company with music on hold in a old 8x24 on DR5. I have worked on many CICS and a few MICS but never a 8x24, I know it was the predecessor to the MICS, but its a little before my time and they were all retired before I started my current job.

I have determined that the input is burned out on the 8x24 just like they do on CICS. We have a spare we can replace the unit with so we are good on hardware.

The question is can I just swap the software cartridge pack to the replacement unit and keep my programming or do I need to back it up and restore it to the replacement unit.

And can you even backup and restore on a 8x24 DR5. I have done backup on 3x8 DR5 and 6x16 I think.

Thanks for the help guys.
