WE HAVE A CUSTOMER THAT IS ON DR1.0 AND THEY ARE USING AN ATA2 WITH A VIKING VOICEMAIL. SHE SAYS THE KEY THAT USED TO MAKE THE PHONES RING DIRECTLY TO THAT ATA2 (I AM ASSUMING A NIGHT SERVICE) GOT PROGRAMMED AS ANOTHER FEATURE BY ACCIDENT. WHEN WE TRY TO PROGRAM THE KEY AS FEATURE 87 IT TAKES IT BUT THEN SAYS ACCESS DENIED WHEN YOU PRESS IT. WE HAVE NIGHT RINGINGT SET TO YES AND THE RINGING SET AS THE ATA DN. I READ IN AN OLD DOC THAT THE FEATURE 87 WAS ONLY SUPPORTED ON DR3.0 AND HIGHER. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? I JUST NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS STOPPING US FROM TURNING THIS ON. WE TRIED FROM EVERY PORT IN THE SYSTEM.

F87 works

If it states Access Denied then the set is not a Prime Set.
Default would be lowest DN (reception)

I do wonder if it was truly a night service key though as it would be changed in config....strange for somebody whom was only changing a button?
What did it used to say on the display when they pressed the button?

We tried the prime set and still says access denied. We discovered they had a phone go bad which was a 7208 and put a 7310 in its place so that is probably what jacked up the feature but I still cannot get this working. I cannot believe I am being stumped by a 1.0.....

There is no control set on 1.0

If set relocation was turned on and you put a phone in its place that was already on the system once before then that is not the ext # you think it is.
Feature * 0 then press Intercom to see the DN/EXT#

You can Change DN's in MISC to fix if needed.

No it is the same extension, no set relocation on. I have covered the basics. We even tried every extension port on the system.

This is a DR1. Set relocation is always on (no option to disable). If you moved a phone the DN number changed, but the Prime Set number probably didn't.

This might require a defaulting of the system.

Marv is correct. No way to turn off set relocation on DR1. I'm guessing that night service can only be turned on from station 21. If the station number changed when swapping sets, which is highly likely, then either put the old set back or you may have no choice but to default the system and start over. Also, the memory cap on the control unit might be weak or dead so this could play havoc with programming anytime there's a power outage.
