I am new to CR and have Version 10 on my desktop. I am trying to work with an MS Analysis Services OLAP Cube. I can attach to the cube and create a report using the OLAP Wizard. I would like to use the OLAP Worksheet feature, but I do not have the "View Cube" selection from the preview grid pane.

I also don't have a OLAP Publishing Wizard that I have seen referred to in an older text I have on Crystal Enterprise 8.5. It appears that I am publishing a .rpt file, and I get an error when opening that with CE.

Was something missed when we installed CR? Older versions of CR had an add-in called something like Analysis Services that is suppose to be part of CR 10.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

THANKS

Maybe, what's the error you're getting?

Crystal Reports 10 isn't Crystal Enterprise, you reference different products, do you also have CE 10? If so, which edition?

I have CR Professional V10 and CE Professional V10

I get the following error when opening the cube with CE:
Unable to retrieve Object.
Information is needed before this report can be processed.

I would think CR should have the View Cube feature and is responsible for saving the cube, not CE.

Seagate Analysis was/is a crystal product, but it isn't part of Crystal Reports, and I don't think it ever was.

Hi,

Although you can hook CR to a cube, once you publish it to CE you loose the “View Cube” functionality. This is a limitation of the report viewers.

If you want to “slice and dice” you need to use CA (Crystal Analysis) and publish the respective .CAR files to CE.

HOWEVER you will require additional licensing to do so unless you have the Premium edition of CE 10.

Nuffsaid.
