OL98 Hyperlinks

My OL98 users can no longer click a hyperlink in an email message and be directed to the site. IE 5.5 sp2 will open, but only display a blank window and toolbar menu items are inaccessible (you can see/click them, but no activity). However, if IE is opened first the hyperlink from the email message works normal????? Any idea why this has occured? Better yet any suggestions on how to fix it? All input is greatly appreciated.

Try this: In IE go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs, Check "Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser".,

You may need to reboot.

I have tried that already. In fact IE is the only browser I have installed. I have also tried registering urlmon.dll along with several others associated with IE and followed MS KB:Q281679. Lastly I updated from IE5.5 sp1 to 5.5 sp2. Still no success. Thanks for you suggestion.

I suggest you re-register all these:
Go to Start,Run and type each line below separately, then press OK

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
