okidata fuser life problem can't clear the eeprom

I have an Okidata OL1200 That I changed the fuser out in but I keep getting a fuser life error on the led readout it prints ok but I can't clear the eeprom. Does any body know how to clear this error. I know if you press menu & recover the reset eeprom comes up on the led for about 3sec
and then the red attention light comes on and the fuser life thing pops up again.
