Windows server 2003, all up to date.

Trying to migrate users from desktops to thin clients. We have to have a Okidata Microline 321 for a custom form. So, when i have it hooked to a desktop, prints great. No problems. When i try to connect it thru TS it prints garbage. I have set the drivers to the Oki one, and even Generic/Text Only, and same garbage. Our programmers tell us to use this printer with Generic/Text only.

Tried multiple platforms. The HP thin clients, even rdp from the laptop, still garbage.

I have searched and search, so if i missed it, please go easy on me, as im pulling my hair out right now.

Thanks for the help in advance.

When the user connects via thin client, is the printer auto-created for their profile and using the correct driver. How is the printer setup on the network (is it directly attached to your terminal server or is it on an HPJetDirect device)

As this is a dot matrix printer try issuing a net use lpt1 \\server\printershare and then send a dir > lpt1 to see if it prints standard DOS text (ie doesn't use a driver)

End game is they connect via thin clients. Not sure on the model, can get that in the morning.

Each client has 4 printers. 3 on print server's work great. They get created with the proper drivers and print fine.

The oki prints via an LPT port on the thin client. When the client logs in, it gets created with a oki driver or text/generic driver. Which ever one I have selected. It shows in printers under the session. When you print to it, garbage.

Same printer, connected to a real box, prints great via the same program (web based, no terminal). But running it thru TS it get's all messed up. It acts like a driver issue, but downloaded lastest from Oki and thats the one it pulls.
